Like the original BOOM BLOX game Bash Party is based around fast-paced gameplay that utilizes players' reflexes, dexterity, and problem-solving skills. During the action players use the Wii Remote to direct objects and forces toward structures made of blocks in order to knock them over. There is also Jenga like gameplay during which players pull blocks, with the goal of toppling as many of them as possible, but without bringing down the whole structure. In doing this players have to deal with the different types of blocks in play. Some of these include: gem blocks, blocks with point values attached, explosive blocks that detonate on contact, vanishing blocks that disappear when struck, wood blocks, and steel blocks. In addition, as the game progresses strategies may change, meaning that players must be flexible in order to succeed. Wow this is fun.
I haven't played the original game, but this is fun. You get to break stuff and you also have to think about the puzzles.
Fun for all ages
I bought this game for my son who had recently been released from the hospital and hoped it would entertain him as he recovered. I'm not typically a video game player, but not only did I have a blast playing this game, but we had many relatives in for a wedding, ages 7-50, who also had a great time playing this game. This boom blox iteration offers a child unending creativity in allowing them to create their own structures to demolish. In my opinion, it's a must have!
Amazing Variety and Fun For All!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened up the game. I'd not played the first one. However, once we started playing, the hours flew by! Even the tutorial I wanted to play over again in order to do better! The variety in the types of puzzles in this game is outstanding and the fact that it allows for online and user created puzzles is nothing short of amazing.
Don't be fooled by the cartoony aspect of this game, it really is more fun than it should be!
Boom Blox
I just recently bought my girl friend a Nintendo Wii and she loves puzzle types. So naturally I went looking for a brain type of game but I only found that they had only downloads and what not. Then I saw on amazon that boom blox had high reviews and decided to check it out. To my surprise from the video it looked pretty interesting and fun. I've never played the original boom blox but i bought the sequel for my girl and let me say i was suprisingly engaged and addicted to the game! the puzzles start off pretty elementary but then get hella harder after awhile.
some of my favorite features about this game is being able to create your own puzzle, then you can share it via wiiconnect24, and being able to download more puzzles for free!
we only have one controller set up at the moment so i can comment on the multiplayer but i will tell you as far as single player goes this game rocks! so with that said it makes me more excited about the multiplayer because if single player rocks and from what i heard multiplayer is better, then i know its a smash hit!
More Than I Expected
I don't care for video games. In fact, most of the time, I'm pretty irritated by them. My husband and three sons, however, love them. So, when my husband suggested Boom Blox Bash Party, I glanced at it, thought it looked stupid (like I'd already determined most video games were), but bought it for the family anyway.
I was pleasantly surprised. I griped the first time my husband convinced me to play with him but within minutes, we were laughing and competing. After the kids go to bed (seriously!) we have Boom Blox matches and we find ourselves cracking up over the graphics, our different strategies for solving puzzles, and just the game in general. It's a good time to unwind, be silly, and have fun together as a couple.
The characters/animals in the game are quirky and fun to watch, the puzzles range from easy to difficult, and after a few weeks of having owned the game, we still haven't come close to completing or solving all the different puzzles.
This is definitely a great family game and it's easy to lose track of time playing it. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
